going home, au revior kimchiland

Time passes by so fast...
Before I knew it,
Its already time to go home.
And It felt like as if it was yesterday when I first arrive.

It was the end of winter when I came
and the beginning of winter when I leave...

Remember the time how much i disliked this country,
probably because of the food when I was a kid.
And see now how much affection I have towards this country
and I am starting to miss the taste of kalbitang.

In Korea,
I experienced the change of seasons
the beauty of this country
the kindness of the people
and the independence I have to hold onto
and perhaps....
a closer relationship to God.

Thank you very much people,
for treating my very well in Korea...
you know who you are and.....
I will miss you all so bad...
and probably very very bad

winter is very cold in Korea.
But all your love and care warms me up inside.
thank you very much.
I love you all so...
au revior.

I shall take all these memories and cherish it
in my little box
hidden in my hearts core.

★Chuseok, omg why the heck holidays pass so fast and so soon?★

Whats Chuseok( 추석)?
Well the Koreans called it thanks giving day
and apparently is one of the biggest important traditional Korean holidays ever held.
Most Koreans would go back to their hometown and visit their relatives and gather all together for a meal.
***the hanja (chinese character) for chuseok is 秋夕
also see wikipedia

During Chuseok there is many types of traditional delicacies such as songpyeon (송편), a type of Korean rice cake (also known as tteok in korea ) that has fillings inside.
Songpyeon reminds me of tangyuen and mocchi somehow but taste far harder (and a lil' saltier?) than it orz.

The dorm is closed during chuseok ,
so I had to move back to my host families house for 6 days and 5 nights.
My chuseok holiday was pretty interesting, we didn’t go all the way to taebek to visit Aboji’s family, but instead we stayed put in Gwang Ju and just cooked all the Chuseok Korean Food.

OAMGEEE KOREAN CHUSEOK FOOD TASTE SO GOOOOOD
ok I hate Korean food but ....
HNGHHHH CHUSEOK FEWD
AWMAHGAHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!

They had this satay (?) thingy that has meat, and mushroom and cucumber and it
LOOKS SO COLORFUL
then they dip it in the egg batter and then cook it over the grill (?)
AND OMAGAHHHHH SOOOOO GOOOOOD SCREW THE CALLORIESSSS OMAGAHHHHHHHHHH .
ok I am totally overreacting lmao.

I met up with Hasen eonni on Monday to celebrate her birthday (?),
and went back to that manga shop were they sell the Korean gay pron.

HAHHAHAHHA and I bought two reference book in kimchi language, on prospective and posing
I will buy that kino no tabi artbook next time I SWEARS.

As usual Hasen is so nice to me, she knows my Korean is worse than my grandmothers English not very good so she talked to me in English. TwT

I totally want to meet up with you in comic world next!!!!
I WANT TO TALK TO YOU MORE BUT WHY MY BRAIN FAILS TO REVERT TO KIMCHI LANGUAGE WHEN I HAVE TO!!!!
I had a great time with her even though it was a 5 hour meet up.

On Tuesday, my host family brought me to another sinful place,
CALLED DONGADAEMUN!!!
Aka the heaven for all kimchiland cosplayers.

I felt so bad because I bought so much things in Dongdaemun and my host parents payed it for me because I forgotten to take the money out of the atm earlier on.
 After that she said :
" CHUSEOK SEONG MUL (chuseok present) "

 and I was like
NOOOOOO OMG I WASTED SO MUCH MONEY !!!!
ITS LIKE I BOUGHT A PAIR OF NICE BOOTS AND SUNCAP AND A SHIRT AND SHE EVEN BELANJA ME CREPE BECAUSE I WAS SOO HUNGRY AND I WAS CRAVING FOR SWEETS WHY U SO SWEET MAMI TvT </3.
yay! nadeko boots and you know whoo's hat LOL

Sadly le fabric market wasn’t open because I really had to buy cloth to sew for my cw plans.
At night, we went to this Korean old band concert called Delgukhwa (들국화)
Apparently they are also known as the Korean Beatles back in the old generations.

I had to admit that their songs are pretty good, especially ‘Jeju island blue night’,
which was written by Choi SungWon whom is one of the members in Delgukhwa.
This song is really chill and the melody is really relaxing and beautiful.

Till today that song still remains as one of the famous classic Korean rock songs and could sometimes heard covered by many k-pop singers and used in drama shows.

 dongseng, oma, me and aba!

Sadly no photos, during the concert
so I only took photos outside the location where to concert were held at.

The rest of my holidays when we did not go out was spend at home where I had time to draw and sleep HAHAHHAHA like a very lifeless otaku as usual.
But overall  my holidays were awesome!!

♣Hi Filipinos ~ Lets head to the mall maybe?♣

September 15,
cloudy

Other than transferring Schools,
3 students from Philippines came to Korea in a student exchange program for 4 months,
and they were assigned to live in the same dorm with me.

Jin Sun was asked to leave the room to make room for the Filipino students,
which leaves me and Ka bin left in the room to live with the rest of the other 3 Filipino students.

The Filipino students were respectively named Ivana, Tamara and Abigail (shall call her abby for now).
They were all younger than me, around 14 and 15 years old –ish.
Around the same age with Kristen and Lydia (my beloved sisters),
and OH GOSH HOW THEY REMIND ME OF THEM SO MUCH
THE WAY THEY SPEAK AND ACT!!!!

Tamara and Ivana are like Lydia in halves and Abby totally reminds me of my moe anti-social sis Kristen which has the smile I totally adore in the whole wide world.
The Filipino part reminds me of Marissa and Genma.
Walao eh, I miss home just looking at them and relating them to the people I know.
♣♣♣♣♣

After a week, I discovered how much they enjoyed books and offered them a tour to Coex, just to go to the book store there. Oh Coex is such a sinful place in deed!
Lots of evil temptations such as 3ds and pokemon Plushes and that bookstore!!!
Oh gosh so sinful just staring at all the English pokemon mangas and Japanese mangas!!!!
Everytime I go Coex, for sure will pokkai wan!!!

But this time I went with some English speaking pals that could really speak English with me without boundaries.
Okay if it were Malaysian it will be even better because I can spam all the LAHHHHHHHHHHHH and YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and APAHALLLLLLLL hahhahah!
But its really good enough lah.

We umm, rode the bus to seoul and the you know all those routines ok we can skip that.
In coex, we shop till we drop , ok maybe that’s just me because I had to scout for gifts all around for my besties and sisters and October was a month were everyone JUST HAVE TO BE BORNED DURING THAT TIME PERIOD DAMNNNNN.

 PIZZA FOR LUNCH
(from left : abby, tamara and ivana)

Its okay, I love my friends so there goes my pocket money you people better love me okay? //bricked.
And of course, I in the end managed to get a snivy from the professor the toy shop next to the aquarium. Yay! Now I has all 3 bw starters!
Still find my Char Char the best though HAHAHHAHHA.
And yes also the sinful dreadful coex bookstore where I bought my BW BABIES AND PDP MANGAS  (the super shota version of koki which ok I can tahan quite moe //shotacon).

I also managed to try the ice cream from cream stone creamery that I really wanted to try for some time AND O AM GEE IT WAS GOOD I AM COMING HERE AGAIN NEXT MONTH PLEASEEEEEEEEEE .*A*

♦Japanese Club: Lets make Takoyaki and yaki soba ♦

My homeroom teacher , Jo en Su was the adviser teacher for the Japanese club.
So I was pulled in to join the Japanese club inn Yo Go during CA hours on Fridays.

Usually I’d go for art club but its ok for a change once in a while, never joined a Japanese club before but sounds fun to understand and experience some Japanese culture in Korea.

Why not? I am a closet fujoshi you know? OOT: OH MY ISSHUBABIESSSSS .

During my first visit to the Japanese culture club, the teacher decided to make takoyaki and yakisoba together.

They even brought the takoyaki machine (which they bought all the way from sushiland omg so pro wei).

The funny and awkward part was when the teacher acting like the total boss of the club and instructing the students how to cook and then whispered to me that this was actually her first time making these Japanese street delicacies LOL.

It was fun, we made really ugly takoyaki on our first try but on our third IT WAS AS IF IT WAS FROM THE STALLS OMG WE SO PROOOOO /bricked.

I tried cooking yakisoba, it was pretty fun!
But then I get nervous when I cook in front of many people so I kept trying to make it look good.
Overall it was a wonderful feast and experience.
I cannot wait for my next CA hour =v=/

 we gather to cooooookkkkk
 we mix the ingredientsssssssssss
we cook the baconnnnnnnnnn
 YAKISOBARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
TAKOYAKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

♠ Adieu Kyung Hwa EB, Hello Kyung Hwa Yo Go ♠

September 3, 2012.
Cloudy.

The long summer holidays have ended in Korea, and the school gates are open once again.

When I returned back to school, the principle and higher ups decided to transfer me from Kyung Hwa EB high school to Kyung Hwa Yo Go.

I had been living in Korea and studying in EB high school for 6 months already.
The higher ups decided to let me and the kyung hwa high school students to have more chance to interact.
This was also to give me more opportunity to make friends in kimchiland.

The plan was really sudden, and it felt really weird and heavy to part away from the class and my classmates. Especially my best pals, So Som and Da Som.

My class prepared a mini “farewell” party before I left, just like Lea’s farewell party, there was choco pie and candles. In addition, I even received a box of candies and some farewell cards. Seeing So Som and Da Som’s words that were the only ones written in Korean kind of make me feel warm. After all they are the only ones that interacts Korean with me and knows that even if I hardly understand their message, I will understand it soon.

★★★★★

I transferred to Kyung Hwa Yo Go in 3rd of September. Kyung Hwa Yo Go students to my surprise, have more students that can speak English than EB.

I guess its because they study harder here just to get into a good college unlike EB which focuses into getting into a trading company.

The students here are really friendly too. I felt more open heart here and in the end exposed my “doujinka side” to them which I held secretly to myself ultra-privately due to the painful past before that nearly killed the artist in myself.

This sparked an interest of another animanga little artist from the class named Ji Su ( I call her cham sin aka. Sleep God because she loves sleeping LOL).
She instantly took a liking to me and showed me all her artworks.
Her body anatomy drawings are pretty good for her age *me eats jelly silently* The best part is…SHE LOVES POGAYMON 8D
We did two collabs of our oc pokemon trainers. I gave her one as a souvenir (?).

my oc yuu, with a zebrastrika and minchinno

Seeing her draw during boring classes reminds me so much of my good ol’ days.
I kind of miss that actually *smiles sadly*

So far so good in this school, my homeroom teacher is really nice too! She doesn’t speak good English like Mrs. Kim or Ji Hae Sensei but thanks to the Korean studies 6 months, I managed to interact with her in kimchi language (y).

I will be leaving in 4 months, I hope everything will turn out fine in the end and this would be an unforgettable memory of my whole life. =D

DongDaemun is cosplayers heaven no objections!

25 August
Rainy/cloudy

Me and Hasen have been always wanting to go on an outing together
Because we both was so busy, we had to keep delaying it.
But today we finally decided to go to dongaemun and otaku heaven searching in korea!  ( ´∀`)

Okay, It was my idea to go to dongdaemun fabric market just because I wanted to find some cloth for my future plans. Lucky hasen was around to help me translate my korean with the seller.

I LOVE THE FABRICS HERE SO MUCH!!!
ITS LIKE THE IDEAL CLOTH I WANT AND THE COLOR IS LIKE 90 SIMILIAR TO THE ACTUAL DESIGN!!!!
キタ━━━ヽ(∀゚ )人(゚∀゚)人( ゚∀)人(∀゚ )人(゚∀゚)人( ゚∀)ノ━━━ !!!

Its very very much a cosplayer heaven in korea!
There is so many choices and shops and one could really get lost in a labyrinth of fabrics @w@ |||

different floors sell different stuff, you can get diy necklace goods on the highest floor and then zippers/ lace/ furr etc. on the lowest.
They are so friggin blessed ! So many cloth can do so many nice characters and props!!!

but because there is soooo many choices, one would get confused on what they really want (´ヘ`;)

Anyway buying some fabric in dongdaemun fabric market!

After that, We had lunch at lotteria together oh yeahhh

 hasen nim (she can really eat ! ) ( ; ゚Д゚)

After lunch, we hurried back to dongdaemun because i realized I forgotten to get touyas bag cloth as well as kyouheis bag cloth so that i can modify.
Sadly, most of the fabric shops close by 3pm =(

So we gave up,
but she brought me to this famous wig shop in korea (which is also located in dongdaemun) ,
the name is Twins
where most cosplayers in Korea get their wigs from !
EVEN EKI HOLIC GETS HER WIG HERE!!!!

The quality is categorized into two different types which is normal and high quality
high quality wigs feels smoother and the price ranges from 30,000 won onwards.
When you buy the wig, they come with a free trimming and styling service =D
what more is the ajuma and ajushi is very friendly!!!
they treat me to free apple juice Q//w//Q

One thing good about wig shops than internet is that you can compare color in reality =D
you will not have to worry about the oclor differences of the actual item and the one on the net !

They also accept premade wigs as well.

Address :
서울시 중구 신당동 773번지 맥스타일 지하2층 21호,22호

look at all those coscards and pctures given to the ajuma and ajushi XD
 the shop name

look its kagami's wig!
 hahahha COUPLE

 LOOK ITS EKI HOLIC'S COSCARD!!

 free aple juice <3

after that we took the subway all the way to hongik uni station.
We went to the manga /manhwa shop located at a basement (which is not very far away from the station)
my bad for not taking down the address and taking photos, will update this blog post in the future.

Most of the mangas here and manhwas here is obviously in korean.
They sell webtoons here published in books and very little doujinshis and official japanese/american art books around.

Manhwas in korea are authentic....TAKE A LOOK AT THIS BL |D
(cough i kind of snap this secretly cough)
R18!!! COME SEME H UKE IN HANBOK
(ok I admit i did not buy the book because....just too lol to process at that moment (;・∀・))

 streets in hongik

after that we went for some milk tea,
HEY I DID NOT KNOW GONG CHA OPENED IN KOREA !!!!

she treated me donuts! she is as sweet as usual

anyway hauls today!!!!
i got myself two authentic manhwas that were published in korea and in korean so that i can improve my korean as i read hopefully sobs.
i love fabrics <3
GUESS WHATS MY NEXT PLAN (ok very obvious lol)

キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━( ゚∀)━( ゚)━( )━( )━(゚ )━(∀゚ )━(゚∀゚)━━━!!

comic world 110 seoul day 1 report and doujin hauls

Saturday,
Cloudy and fucking hot
(OH NOES IT MIGHT RAIN but whatever i was inside the hall PFFT)
July 27

★★★★★★★★★

This time I did not go to seoul alone but my host family instead brought me there.

Because I told them that i wanted to go cw on saturday so that they can cancel whatever plans they have with me hahahha orz

But yeah after some awkward persuading they finally let me off on my own |D;; I seriously cannot imagine myself going to an event with someone that has no interest with the thing i have lol!

Summer is really hot, I actually considered coslaying Jafar for comic world again but I decided not to because I was lazy to put on makeup and carry my stuff there.
Summer in korea somewhat makes me want to roll on bed more and refuse to get up lol!

cw this time was held in setec!
ti oh oh beloho! GOING TO RAIN LIAOOO
hurray for refills on the vending machines =D

During this comic world, because of the release of bw 2 a month ago, the ticket had BW2's kyouhei and mei chan on top!!! I WAS HIGH OVER A FRIGGIN TICKET LOL .

 entrence into the center

The halls were friggin crowded as usual and the venue was actually smaller than the one in yang jae sobs.
There were 3 halls. 2 halls for doujinshis and 1 hall for cosplayers.

The doujin halls were really really hot.
The only place that I can seriously feel the air conditioning is the cosplayers hall orz.

 doujin hall 3
cosplayers hall were the comps are held, and where the cosplayers change and register.

HAHHAHAHAHA so yeah I went to stock up all the doujinshis in all the halls one by one >D
As usual there was alot of inazuma 11 doujinshis and recently fate/zero and kuroko no basuke ones around!!!!
Okay, lucky I not big fan of knb or else pokkai like shit hahaha.

There was pokemon ones around too!
demo ne! I only managed to get 1 ISSHUSHIPPY DOUJINSHI!!!
NOOOOO MY N TOUYA!!!!!!!
sobs i le no satisfied.

Due to the release of bw 2 which happened a month ago, suddenly all the bw cosplayers popped up!
HEY MAN IDM STALKING ALL THE TOUYAS /me hentai oneechan
whenever i see a touya pass by I give them intense stares that I think they are scared of me oops

there were around 3 touyas around, this is one of the best ones.
she really gives me the touya feel (*´▽`*)
so cute and quiet that i want to push her

touko and N! TOUKO SO TALL AND N IS A MALE /legasp!

magi cosplayers hahahhaha not much in the event this time, sadly. =(

i think she is cosplaying a nico nico douga singer but.....she reminds me of molly lol

And well, similiar to yangjae, setec also has a place outside the convention center that the cosplayers can linger to.

 look!!!! that sea of cosplayers!

nyek nyek nyek ! And i found pisti! (well not pisti anymore since she is cosplaying fate/zero)

We kind of hanged out for....a short while and yeah we had some camwhores together!

So this time I went back early and had some early din dins with my host family.
Overall cw this time was okay,
but it was so hot and somewhat i end up loosing my lens cover in the event =(

ALL MY HAULSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I RABU RABU MY POKEMON CUP!!!!
