DongDaemun is cosplayers heaven no objections!

25 August
Rainy/cloudy

Me and Hasen have been always wanting to go on an outing together
Because we both was so busy, we had to keep delaying it.
But today we finally decided to go to dongaemun and otaku heaven searching in korea!  ( ´∀`)

Okay, It was my idea to go to dongdaemun fabric market just because I wanted to find some cloth for my future plans. Lucky hasen was around to help me translate my korean with the seller.

I LOVE THE FABRICS HERE SO MUCH!!!
ITS LIKE THE IDEAL CLOTH I WANT AND THE COLOR IS LIKE 90 SIMILIAR TO THE ACTUAL DESIGN!!!!
キタ━━━ヽ(∀゚ )人(゚∀゚)人( ゚∀)人(∀゚ )人(゚∀゚)人( ゚∀)ノ━━━ !!!

Its very very much a cosplayer heaven in korea!
There is so many choices and shops and one could really get lost in a labyrinth of fabrics @w@ |||

different floors sell different stuff, you can get diy necklace goods on the highest floor and then zippers/ lace/ furr etc. on the lowest.
They are so friggin blessed ! So many cloth can do so many nice characters and props!!!

but because there is soooo many choices, one would get confused on what they really want (´ヘ`;)

Anyway buying some fabric in dongdaemun fabric market!

After that, We had lunch at lotteria together oh yeahhh

 hasen nim (she can really eat ! ) ( ; ゚Д゚)

After lunch, we hurried back to dongdaemun because i realized I forgotten to get touyas bag cloth as well as kyouheis bag cloth so that i can modify.
Sadly, most of the fabric shops close by 3pm =(

So we gave up,
but she brought me to this famous wig shop in korea (which is also located in dongdaemun) ,
the name is Twins
where most cosplayers in Korea get their wigs from !
EVEN EKI HOLIC GETS HER WIG HERE!!!!

The quality is categorized into two different types which is normal and high quality
high quality wigs feels smoother and the price ranges from 30,000 won onwards.
When you buy the wig, they come with a free trimming and styling service =D
what more is the ajuma and ajushi is very friendly!!!
they treat me to free apple juice Q//w//Q

One thing good about wig shops than internet is that you can compare color in reality =D
you will not have to worry about the oclor differences of the actual item and the one on the net !

They also accept premade wigs as well.

Address :
서울시 중구 신당동 773번지 맥스타일 지하2층 21호,22호

look at all those coscards and pctures given to the ajuma and ajushi XD
 the shop name

look its kagami's wig!
 hahahha COUPLE

 LOOK ITS EKI HOLIC'S COSCARD!!

 free aple juice <3

after that we took the subway all the way to hongik uni station.
We went to the manga /manhwa shop located at a basement (which is not very far away from the station)
my bad for not taking down the address and taking photos, will update this blog post in the future.

Most of the mangas here and manhwas here is obviously in korean.
They sell webtoons here published in books and very little doujinshis and official japanese/american art books around.

Manhwas in korea are authentic....TAKE A LOOK AT THIS BL |D
(cough i kind of snap this secretly cough)
R18!!! COME SEME H UKE IN HANBOK
(ok I admit i did not buy the book because....just too lol to process at that moment (;・∀・))

she treated me donuts! she is as sweet as usual

i got myself two authentic manhwas that were published in korea and in korean so that i can improve my korean as i read hopefully sobs.

GUESS WHATS MY NEXT PLAN (ok very obvious lol)

♣ Tips on cosplaying in Comic World Korea ♣

I decided to share my tips and experiences on cosplaying etiquette in Comic World Korea.
This will be all in english to aid those foreign cosplayers whom are interested in cosplaying in Comic World Korea ^^

♠ General Rules ♠
♠ No matter whether you want to join a cosplay competition in korea or just cosplay for the fun of it, you still need to register.

♠ After registering, you will have to pay 1000 won just to cosplay in comic world korea, They will give you a hand band which states cosplayer in return and it enables you to use the changing room provided at the event itself. (yes there is no discounts for cosplayers here unlike malaysia)

♠ CHANGE TO YOUR COSTUME ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT THE EVENT. Which means no changing at the subway station or wearing your costumes from home, they are pretty serious about this.

♠ It costs around 500 won to storage your bags for two days at the event, its pretty much a safe place to keep your bags there after changing into your costumes.

♠ The Registration Form ♠
here is a sample picture of the registration form i filled out on the previous Comic World Seoul 109 event, you may print the form on the web or just fill it in when you arrived at the event.
translated it with red text beside it in english as a reference
a place at the event where you can find the forms.

♠OTHER TIPS♠
♣ Suggest to all cosplayers whom wish to buy doujinshis! Please buy everything and then only change into your costume!!! Doujinshis sold out pretty fast in this country , you walked one round back to the same booth AND BAM ITS SOLD OUT !
Besides, its not very convenient holding your fandom when you cosplay and someone wants your photo.

♣ Better to bring along a helper if you want to wear something very pika fuwa to help you with your costume.

♠ Bring your own mirror with you to the changing room, yes there are mirrors there but they are often not available as many cosplayers use it, and its hard to get by your chance.

♣At Bexco, water in vending machine sells out fairly fast in an event, and there is usually a long queue at the convenience stores inside the convention center. Its safer to bring your own water bottle, but there is always a starbucks inside bexco if you are craving for some teas, coffees or other ice blended drinks.

♣In the subway station near Bexco, there is a high end shopping mall where they have a food court where you can buy yourselves lunch before attending the event. Bring yourselves 10000 won at least for lunch just to be safe, but you can also buy kimbab which only costs at least 1000 won to bring and eat at the event itself instead.
